Private Preserve after Day 1
N: Closed (on the cool side); A creamy note with a something I can't quite ID: poss the honeysuckle mentioned by Vinnut on 8/1/19?
P: MF body; RNDISH entry with NICE, almost swtish frt met by a ZESTY acidity that slowly, fairly seamlessly, ultimately works itself into & through a LONG, beautifully balanced, TANGY/swt (55:45) finish. As it warmed a nice foil to our Grilled Salmon, Grilled Tilapia, & TJ's Mushroom Risotto. Although 1 of the relatives didn't like the match with his Salmon, I felt the wine's acidity did a good job of cleansing the palate for the finish to mitigate.
// Day 2: Room temp; N showing a floral component, poss some peaches, with hints of minerals? P very ≈ to Day 1's, having held quite nicely. Wasn't a match I'd want to repeat with the night's Corned Beef/Cabbage & sides, though I don't blame the wine for that.
// ∑: 14.5% ABV; A nicely made wine for now & through '22, though I'd doubt further improvement. My EXC- (90,91/100, using that metric). [As of late Mar '21, wine-searcher still shows 1 source @ $23].

August 13, 2019 - On the nose a hint of old rose, and minerality. Rounded, medium mouthfeel, with a very pleasant minerality all the way through to a medium finish. Balanced with a nice butteriness. This was delicious with a farm fresh meal of fried okra, green beans and little red potatoes, and fresh tomato slices with cornbread muffins and butter. Yum!!
8/14/19 - Finished a rest of the bottle With a frittata. Potato-herb. And bib lettuce salad with balsamic vinegar. Perfect!1 person found this helpful Comments (5) -

August 1, 2019 - Light golden yellow in color. Full, forward & attractive nose of citrus fruit aromas of grapefruit, lemons/limes & some apricot notes with overtones of floral notes of honeysuckle & minerals/stony, somewhat smoky & a sight hint of oak in the background. Light bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, crisp, ripe fruit flavors of grapefruit, lemons/limes & apricots with minerals, stony & a slight touch of oak. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present & may develop with another year or two of further aging. A very good Albarino & well worth seeking out.

July 20, 2019 - Winebar [1 Rosé, 3 Whites, 8 Reds, & 10 *shared* bottles] from 07/19/19 (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): Cf. the CellarTracker Article link [lower lft] to get specific info for this vintage, including acclaim.
Had been in my small tasting glass @ room temp for ≈5 hrs
N: Apples, something floral, with minerals & notes of saline?
P: Med body; RNDISH entry with NICE, almost swtish frt deftly counterbalanced by an acidity which fairly seamlessly evolves into a LONG finish with an elegant, tangy/swtness. For now & likely through '21 given the way it held up today! My EXC/EXC+ (92-95/100 on that scale), the higher (I.e., 94-95) for QPR. [By all means, DO *quickly* check with this vendor if interested in their *very* COMPETITIVE (closeout?) price!] -

N: Closed; Notes of toast (?), minerals, with hints of lemons -- & something I can't quite I.D.?
P: MF, poss M, body; Very RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt adroitly balanced by an acidity which fairly seamlessly morphs into a very LONG, BALANCED finish with an elegant tangy/swtness. For now & through '20, poss '21? Very IMPRESSIVE, though possibly NOT for those desiring the SP take on Albariño, with which I found little commonality other than acidity & minerality. [While also distinctly not SP, at least their '17 & '18 non Single Vyd (I.e., "Reserva") come closer to typical SP Albariño.] My EXC/EXC+ (92-95/100 on that scale), the higher (I.e., 94-95) for QPR. [By all means, DO *quickly* check with this vendor if interested in their *very* COMPETITIVE (closeout?) price!]
