December 30, 2023 - lovely over 2 nights, big cigar nose, fruity and balanced with cassis and earth notes, finish is long and tannic. This could work well for years.

May 7, 2023 - If only she could be consistent with winemakers! However, this dark colored, blackberry, cassis and minerality flavored wine carries itself. I'm beginning to go through my stock, but still believe this wine will mellow so more over time. I hope I can hold another 2 - 5 years to finish out my supply.

May 8, 2022 - A rated this bottle slightly lower, not due to any reason except trying to determine, in my mind, should it be 93 or 94? The location of this vineyard, just off Silverado Trail, is definitely what makes this wine work. The vineyard keeps very good company. I am also increasing my drink window by another 2 years.

November 19, 2020 - Great nose of blueberry, almonds, menthol, and olives is followed by energy in the attack. Across the palate, deep oak notes and drying tannins engage with the dark blue and black fruit, each jockeying and maneuvering for attention, driven on by the fresh energy streak running throughout. Smoke and mineral notes add support on the medium length finish.

The tussle mentioned between these elements implies questions about the current level of integration. It was a bit early to open this wine as it turns out, even after a 5 hour decant, and it has the bones to develop for years to come. Being ripe yet more fresh and structured than other Napa low energy fruit-forward bombs gives this wine a savory goodness today, and the oak and tannins that are presently in control imply a good future trajectory. Some sediment noted. Decant 2+ hours today; better in 2022. 94+

November 8, 2020 - Pairs well with food at the moment but probably needs a few more years to fully integrate. Delicious
