Community Tasting Notes 11

February 16, 2012 - Leather, violets, red berries and minerals on the nose. The palate is unbalanced with tart sappy red fruit. Sheds light on the shortcomings of the vintage compared to the '03, '05 which were significantly more successful.

April 12, 2011 - Medium-ruby color, moderate clarity. Nose of bacon fat, tar, with some floral hints. Medium-bodied. More savory than fruity, the palate suggesting low-sugar balsamic vinegar taken from raspberries with smoke infused. A dry wine with fine tannins. Moderate acidity from start to finish. Medium-short finish. Would not age much more. Ready to drink.

December 27, 2010 - Blood red; meaty + a whiff of smoky bacon, floral note but overall reticent nose; dry tannins, fruit suppressed, rather old fashioned, foursquare Cornas. Signs of softening on the finish, fair length. Leave for a couple of years but is there enough fruit?

April 24, 2010 - Some real initial interest on the nose, hints of lavender moving to chocolate and smokiness and then giving away to unsubtle meatiness. Some concentration but shortish length.

April 30, 2009 - K drank most. Enjoyed it and the particular flavor common from Cornas, with a bit of meatiness to it.
