July 3, 2023 - This is a stunner! Beautiful wine, loads of dark fruits, bing cherry leading the way, creme de cassis. Full body, which i was surprised given right bank 2016. Nothing not to love here. This could hit 100 in time, but accessible now. So glad I got a case at auction, perfect condition and a steal at $1,000 for the case! I will probably get the '19 and '20 based off of this tasting. I think a great value play (if there is such a thing at $100+ a bottle wine). Everything is correct here, smooth finish and ample body.
Reminded me of 2015 Gazin but better and a baby VCC, maybe a notch or so below it.

June 25, 2023 - Very young of course, but absolutely beautiful. Black and blue fruit and kirsch and spice on the nose, alcohol just barely noticeable. The sweetness of the fruit shows on the palate, but there is also a savory note to balance that. The youth shows on the finish, with some cedar and tannins eventually dominating. A lovely Le Gay.

September 21, 2019 - Earthy, spicy fresh and juicy, with layers of ripe, fleshy cherries, espresso, and truffle. The wine is concentrated, complex and fresh, you can feel the fleshy and freshness as well as the silkiness in the tannins, but it is starting to tighten up. So you should definitely hold your bottles for at least 7-8 years allowing the wine to develop before everything really comes together The wine was made from a blend of 90% old vine Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc.

April 29, 2017 - This will need time to develop before the deeply-colored wine comes together and you can enjoy the layers of concentrated boysenberry, plum, black cherry, earth, truffle and flowers it has to offer. Structured to age with purity of fruit and ripe, firm tannins, this is going to reward cellaring. The wine was made from a blend of 90% old vine Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, reaching 14% alcohol. The harvest took place from September 29 to October 14.

March 30, 2017 - This handles the oak better than the Bon Pasteur. Fresher and more appealing. 89-92
