February 23, 2024 - Fabulous All Sauternes Tasting Dinner: Part Trois (Brad's Place, St. Paul, MN): Medium amber color. Drank a glass over an hour plus. Unripe melon, dried prange peels, Mandarin orange, deep and intense, layers of tart citrus and pineapple, toasty caramelized sugar, abundant spices, creamy pleasing texture. Much more vibrant than the '83 Rieussec next to it. Very nice. 93+ to 94pts.

November 24, 2023 - Popped and poured. A large well structured and well balanced wine with a tree like sap suggesting this is still young. On day 1 this is a 92.
Day 2- poured a 4 ounce glass 3 hours in advance and wow. Perfect harmony, viscosity way down, balance improved and drinking in or near peak. This should drink well for a few more decades and requires a lot of air at this point.

    January 22, 2023 - Last tasted 6/19 from a split; this from a 750ml bottle.

Color/App: deep, old gold, verging toward amber in bottle but still deep gold in glass; high viscosity. Large-scaled, faintly Germanic bouquet of caramel, barley sugar, honey, apricots and saffron. Still showing a nice, sweet palate with creme brulee, toffee, peaches and apricots, apricots, apricots. Wow; simply perfect acidity and a towering, sweet, super-long finish. Lafaurie knocks it out of the park in '86. I'd say this easily has another 5-10 years with well stored bottles, but there is certainly no reason to wait.

December 27, 2022 - Amber. Delicious! Marmalade, hints of caramel, great acidity. Dried apricot. Long finish, multi layered, complex. Drink now but still going strong, will last for many years yet.

April 23, 2022 - Tasted blind from half bottle. A really nice amber color with plenty of sugar having visibly crystallized. Burned sugar, saffron, candid berry fruit, a bit of smoke and a fresh herbal layer to shake things up. Perfect creaminess on the palate with ideal acidity. This is a beautifully aged Lafaurie-Peyraguey and was a joy to taste.
