Community Tasting Notes 12

October 3, 2015 - Wine Machinery Tasting at Fresh (Grabouw, Western Cape): (Tasted Blind): Deep yellow with gold hues indicating some maturity. The aromas are an intriguing mix of herbal, cut grapefruit and overripe white fruit with a touch of aniseed and odd algae quality. The fruit is starting to tire, but crisp acidity is still there, as is a stony quality.

December 31, 2007 - Wow! What a great white wine.

Clear pale straw in the glass. Stony, chalk filled nose with some citrusy. Scent reminded me of an echinacea ricola. Also some honeysuckle notes. On the palate more stoniness, white a little more of the citrusy flavors. Longish finish dominated again by the stoniness. Puckering acidity on the attack.

This wine is lush without being oaky. Very nice.
