Community Tasting Notes 6

March 27, 2020 - Purchased about 2 years ago at the cantina, this is still quite youthful. Some bright soil tones really help to highlight the fruit. It's got many similarities to the 2009 (which I'm still drinking) in that it's got plenty of structure, is fun when young, but also has the goods to go the distance, too. Medium/med+ body, slightly more black fruit than red, with juicy, sweet, and very fine tannins. A pleasure all the way around, and well worth the modest price. I went ahead and grabbed a few magnums in addition to a 6-pack, and look forward to drinking these over the coming 5-8 years; probably my fourth time drinking this since its release. Especially glad to have had this on hand during my quarantine lock down in Greve. Easily recommended+

December 19, 2019 - Not bad - classic barbera with nice acidity. very food friendly, yet not overly complex or compelling

October 24, 2019 - A little flat this time around, time does not seem to be doing this any good so far. Could just be in a "dumb phase."

August 7, 2019 - Decanter for 90 minutes, spicy on the nose, dry finish. This is a really good every day drinker.

May 31, 2019 - Needs another year or so in the bottle or an hour decant. Well balanced with soft berry flavors on the front and decent amount of acid. Paired well with roasted pork with pesto and prosciutto. Medium pleasant finish.
