Community Tasting Notes 39

March 30, 2024 - It is hard to believe you can buy a wine this good, with bottle age at this price. Packed with ripe, energetic, silky, red, and black fruits, the wine expresses purity, elegance, length, and depth. There is minerality, freshness, and while it is simply, fabulous to taste today, it is going to improve for the next 20 years with ease. Drink from 2024-2056.

    January 21, 2024 - Notes from day 2.
N blueberry, cassis, menthol, violets, cedar box
P blueberry, cassis, licorice, cedar box, graphite, spice
F long in length, good mouthfeel and complexity.
Overall a nice wine, but still needs time with the oak still showing on the wine.

September 19, 2023 - Visits in Bordeaux; 9/18/2023-9/19/2023 (St Julien, Saint-Emilion, Pomerol): The nose is deep, polished, and layered with dark red cherries, bitter chocolate, cranberries, sour red berries, some smokey notes, bell peppers, sweet tobacco, spice notes, and herbs. There is a ton going on the nose and even then, it is still wound up just a smidge. The Full bodied feel shows off the depth and layering of the nose with medium acidity and chewy, medium+ tannins. The tannins are extremely youthful and there is a lot of raw power that will need age to settle it all.

May 24, 2023 - Nice ripe red and darker fruits. Good minerality adding freshness and depth. Some graphite. Needs a bit of time to open up.
