April 28, 2023 - Less Celebrated France WIMPS #164 28th April 2023 (La Trompette, Chiswick): From magnum. A generous pour from another table. Nose is meaty, savoury and spicy with a lovely plum and almond tart sweetness to it. Palate, perhaps showing some of the effects of the wet vintage, is not quite as giving. There is a richness there and a drop or two of soy sauce but not the complexity or length this producer can achieve with better conditions. Lovely to try.

April 28, 2023 - Less Celebrated France (WIMPS) (La Trompette, Chiswick, London): Muted decaying red fruits on the nose, quite an intense midpalate with a rising slightly sweet finish. Plenty of life remaining in this. Thanks Mark for sharing this bonus pour.

September 8, 2018 - Wow. Spectacular. Wish I had waited with the rest of the case. Mature. Voluptuous. Feminine. Lovely. Dark fruit. Brooding. Drink now.

July 27, 2018 - Purchased at the winery on realease and cellared since. Nice tannic hit at first and fully balanced. Smoothed out with air and was quite impressive. Thoroughly enjoyable.

May 3, 2018 - Initially, we judged this to be gone and over with, but even on day 3, this is more fresh and open. Certainly a manly and broad wine and lacks maybe the precision of a Pibarnon in a better year. Still very find - and very much a Mourvèdre-wine
