    April 20, 2024 - Decanted 1 h, followed 6 h

This was drunk alongside Barthod Chambolle 18. I would have thought this would be the fruity, fun one and Barthod the serious wine, though the opposite was the case.
A bit stemmy nose, slate and earth. At first, I was struggling to find the fruit, though with a LOT of air, a Grenache-like fruit profile emerged.

Nice mouthfeel, firm, ripe red fruits and a bevy of spices.

Blind, I would not guess Gamay, but this is not your ordinary, early drinking Beaujolais, it´s something else entirely, looking forward to revisiting.

90 now, certainly potential for more in the future.

September 9, 2023 - Completely closed upon opening. Even after hours in the decanter it just stays muted. Maybe some blackberries here and something like eucalyptus or menthol, but not expressive at all. The palate is rustic, dark, structured, quite full bodied and dense, and extremely tannic. Where is the fruit? Maybe this needs more time? Puzzling showing tonight. 15/20

September 14, 2022 - Black pepper, game, cedar, a little reductive, definitely some oak but either it’s all old or it’s faded with time (I think the former). Just based on the nose I would’ve guessed Syrah. Black cherry, high acid up front but it doesn’t linger, just slips into chewy blackberry jam (the first hint that this is Gamay) long gravelly finish, the acidity and fruit dancing along. I would never in a thousand years guess this is a Fleurie. Super delicious, I wish I had more.
