November 18, 2018 - Great bottle. Stunningly fresh, poored blind, people guessed 1998 or so. Complex and long.

December 29, 2017 - Just a fabulous showing again for this wine. Wild Strawberry and bramble flavors. If you have the opportunity to experience an old Barbi then pick up and try. I happen to love these, recognizing that most may not like these.

So unique in flavors and worth finding.

April 20, 2017 - Let me start be saying that I love old wine. In this wine I like its pungent behavior. It is set in a mouthfeel of melancholy aged fruit and most importantly, has a uniqueness of wine expression which can only be found in old wines like this.

Pungent aromatics of month old wine left opened but without the sulfuric nose. The kind of aromas which resemble a wine which sat on the counter opened and after 30 days finally tasted. But on the tongue very unique flavors emerge which are still present and discernible. Prune with an acidic mouthfeel quickly gives way to over ripened, almost slightly rotted strawberry, with a bramble berry, and wild Berry freshness. This is a great wine. it is unbelievably well balanced with a long finish of ripened strawberry that goes on for 30 seconds.
