August 9, 2013 - Consistent with my last bottle, this is dark and ominous. Nose of deep ripened black raspberries and warm blueberry pie. A nose filled of blue and black fruits with an interesting spring flower mix in there. Mouth shows some sassafras, worn leather, white pepper and the root beer I found on last try. This is more approachable out of the gate with tannins yielding and balance deft. Finish goes long. A very deftly made elegant style of Syrah that you can't help but love. If you don't love this, move on to something else, because Syrah just 'ain't your thing'.

November 12, 2011 - Dark with a liqueur-like nose of fresh blueberry compote and black cherries. On pop & pour this showed a bit reticent, but within 5 minutes it bloomed to life and the word on this is 'joy'. It's pretty and floral with hints of sassafras, raspberries, kirsch, white pepper and root beer in the nose. It's exotic and intoxicating; nicely balanced and pure with tons of life left in it. Tannins are chewy and purity reins. Finish goes on and on. I am now finding white flowers in here too and am really liking this one today. A perfect mid-fall treat and a 'true find' on WB for $15.

July 4, 2010 - July 4 BBQ - all Sonoma '04 vintage wines, Zins, Syrahs a Pinot and a Claret. Wines enjoyed by all - particularly the Pinot and the Ridge Zin. A good time had by all.

June 4, 2008 - This still has a ways to go and I recommend holding for another several years. Big, rich, dry, spicy, and peppery on day 1. Day 2 showed much more nuance and resolve with more earthy, dusty, tobacco tones plus raspberry and still a load of acidity that paired well with food.

February 23, 2008 - Decent wine. Highly tannic. Fruit (raspberry) was decent with some spiciness, but didn't hold up to tannins (was decanted). A bit simple and not really worth the $40 sticker.
