June 8, 2019 - Winebar [4 Whites, 8 Reds, & 4 *shared* bottles] from 06/07/19] (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): THANK you for sharing this LOVELY Tempranillo, Arturo! :)
Typically, fermented using natural yeasts, aged ≈14 mos in oak barrels & at least 12 mos in bottle.
N: Closed; Seems ripe with notes of earth? Intensity lurking?
P: LM, poss Med, body; RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt fairly quickly met by an astringent pucker which stays in touch with the init frt as it fairly seamlessly transitions into a very LONG, balanced finish with an enticing tangy/swtness to the fairly considerable, dusty tannins. NEEDS through '21 (poss '22?), then easily making its 10th. Very impressive! 14% ABV; My EXC, very likely more with cellaring. 91 pts WS, & Bronze (88) @ '17 Decanter World Wine Awards. [Wine-searcher shows 3 vendors @ $20-22.] -
