Community Tasting Notes 7

April 2, 2022 - Mostly maderized. Did have some sweet maderized fruit if you like that sort of thing. Interesting in a contemplative way. Shame

July 2, 2010 - Molto sciropposo e fruttoso, ha solo una piacevole nota brodosa che un po' lo salva dall'insufficienza

January 19, 2008 - Aggressive and earthy nose full of barnyard, pine needle and horse leather aromas. Dust and earth mingle with meat and plum fruit flavors, but for some reason this wine just really isn't doing it for me...

July 18, 2007 - I liked this. Good clarity and weight. Alcohol (listed as 14%) very well hidden. More reid than dark fruit, lacking a bit of intensity, but the flavors build and develop with air. Less "rustic" than the few other Sicilians I've had.

June 19, 2007 - The nose has some volatility, but this mostly blows away after some breathing to make way for masses of soft red fruits. After breathing lots of fruit on the palate (mostly strawberries and its preserve), a hint of minerals and refreshing acidity. Very tasty, not heavy (but it still has 14% alcohol). Made from Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Montelleto grapes.
