August 20, 2022 - Lovely, youthful ruby color to rim. Pitched aromas of five-spice, cedar bark, root beer and dark cherry. Nose quickly turns more rustic-floral, slightly musty, with scents of salumi. Flavor profile initially vague but hints at monolithic black raspberry and is sadly marred by bitter alcoholic overtones. Highly appealing Bonnes Mares nose that fails on the flavor side.

June 3, 2022 - Double decanted 3 hours ahead. Pretty open but this will no doubt still gain from more age. Black red fruit mix, a little earthy but not overly so.

April 1, 2019 - Not even close to being ready. Decanted and drank through a 2 hour dinner. A powerhouse bonnes mares. Red and black berries, smoke, menthol, baking spice and earth on full blast. Tannins unresolved. Masculine yet pretty. It’s a shame we opened this so soon.

January 30, 2019 - Not quite evolved! Maybe going through a phase right now. Drink in 5-6 years

(Potel Nicolas Bonnes-Mares) A deep nose that also shows quite some width. Warming and swirling fills in the picture with some higher toned notes. Big and impressive in the mouth with chocolate covered fruits and a wave of tannin that keeps abreast of the fruit. Incredibly impressive stuff, but for my own preference it's just a little brutal today. Really impressive stuff.
