    Tased non blind.

Garnet, perhaps dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of birch, a touch of root beer (forgive me), black berries and black cherries. Flavor of black raspberries, black berries and black cherries. Medium acidity, medium tannin, full bodied. Drink now or hold. i'd drink now. Ready to go in my opinion. Best bottle I've had to date.

December 25, 2012 - Cocktail wine opened at Christmas alongside a 2011 Sineann Resonance. The Chehalem, with a bit if age on it, outshone the Resonance Pinot. Bright red fruit - currents, cherry, and a touch of earth. Very well integrated. Something special.

August 31, 2011 - Weeknight Wine Tasting (Bistro 7, Philadelphia PA): nice red sour fruit profile. a little underripe with a slight green streak. watery on the mid-palate, this has decent acidity and would go well with food. medium(-) sour finish.

August 31, 2011 - Survery Of New World Wines (Bistro 7 (7 N. 3rd St., Philadelphia)): Our last of four of these Chehalem Reserve and our notes have remained rather consistent over the years. In short, this is a perfectly drinkable wine. But I do not think it rises to a "reserve" quality and certainly is probably not a good value at the $50+ level. It had bright red berry fruits on the nose with nice baking spices. Good sour cherry, raspberry and tart fruit on the palate with moderate acidity. What this lacked was that extra oomph you would assume would be a "reserve" wine. It is just a little too thin and watery and lacks some complexity as well.
