July 13, 2023 - Mich lighter than the 2015 Calvert side by side, even a touch fluid. Lovely nose though with red fruit, earth and spices.

March 24, 2023 - Fragrant nose with animalic and yeasty notes, very French in style. Good complexity, a bit dilute on the palate for what the nose promises.

March 22, 2023 - Mature nose with red berries (strawberry and raspberry) and a touch of smoke and leather. Very smooth and silky with plenty of fruit left, good acidity with mature notes of sandalwood and soil? A beautiful bottle!
In my opinion reaching its peak.

October 15, 2022 - Found this 2016 still available on the shelf of a wine store a few days ago. I was happy to get access to an older bottle.
This has a slight nose of violets. It's colour is medium red. The wine has a viscosity to it with a rich long flavour profile of dark red cherry and dark fruits. There is a slight smokiness from the tannins which also contributes flavours of earthiness and leather. There is a bit of bitters at the end of its long length on the palate. Shows all the distinctive aspects of a well made Otago pinot. Very enjoyable wine with aging capabilities.

August 13, 2022 - Tasted at Three Borders Wine Group, Hampshire, UK. Summer event, hosted by me at home. This was the third of three pinot noirs tasted and was the most popular with the group. Bright strawberry colour. Well balanced and elegant nose. The palate is rich and soft, the fruit is still ripe and the wine is well balanced, bringing all its excellent qualities together. Drinking really well now, I expect it will stay good for another 2 or 3 years, but why wait?
