March 16, 2024 - Three Cedric Bouchard wines: 2015 Les Ursules vs 2016 Cote de Val Vilaine vs 2019 La Boloree. This confirmed my impressions of previous bottles: we never will be friends. I had quite strong rotten egg smells in every wine, and in general lots of funk I don’t like. But beside that, the wines are complex, precise and they’re quite elegant. Everybody I talked to liked it quite a lot, so if you’re a fan of the style, ignore this note.

March 9, 2024 - During a merchant tasting, no detailed notes. The Cedric Bouchard Non dosé wines really showed well, generous, aromatic and not lean. I guess the 4t/ha ripe fruit makes up for the absence of the dosage. The BdN 2016 Val Vilaine (96pt) was my favorite, really succulent and aromatic, the BdB (from Pinot Blanc) 2019 Bolorée (95pt) wonderfully fresh with lots of aroma and the BdN 2015 Ursules (94pt) the richest of them all. Impressive stuff and the price shows it.

February 11, 2024 - In the glass, clear gold with a faint hint of copper, fine bubbles. On the nose, fresh baked bread, lemon peel, and a secondary note of crushed berries. On the palate, full-bodied, with bread, lemons, pears, and a note of herbs, primarily thyme. Tightens up to a crisp, clean finish, but not lean in the slightest, with ample body.

December 10, 2023 - Very fine mousse, lemon, pear, some richness but still plenty of focus and intensity, perhaps a bit rounder than what I would go for in this style.

October 31, 2023 - No detailed note made, but this seemed quite young still. Very fine bubbles, and not as intense as the Cote de Bechalin.
