December 28, 2023 - Savory, tannins well integrated, don’t get any of the 15% alcohol. Drink up

February 28, 2022 - While this wine was lovely in many ways, I'm not sure it had a lot of specific things to say to my palette. Velvety red fruit for sure. Maybe a touch of menthol, white pepper. Certainly ready to drink.

January 10, 2021 - At first a boy fruit forward. But with a few hours and then the next day, some of the more savory peppery flavors I associate with this emerged. Next time a decant or 2 years or so. PnP. Riedel somm Syrah glass.

July 5, 2020 - Nice freshness and purity. Good combination of red and dark fruits with spices and a long finish. Very good with smoked beef brisket. Imagine this will age well, but very approachable now (opened about 4 hours before drinking, but no decant)

November 11, 2019 - Medium nose shows black cherry, spice tones, black plum, white pepper, crushed violets, a rocky sense. Palate matches with fairly approachable style for the variety, sour black plum, graphite, blackberry pith, some meaty tones or blood iron but they are secondary to the fruit and shows nicely on the finish. Nice balance overall, hard sell maybe for this grape and price point, but worth checking out.
