July 8, 2018 - Ruby to the rim without a sign of age. Red and black currant, licorice, brown sugar, blackberry, celeryseed, but still clearly on the fruity side. Intense and complex. On the palate great poise and balance of fruit, round and low tannin levels and refreshing acidity. Long, long finish. This wine is fully mature but capable to age and develope for ten more years minimum at least if optimal storage is provided. 5/13/17/10

April 29, 2017 - What a superb wine. An intoxicating nose issues an open invitation to a palate that is rich, smooth and deep. The dark fruits have softened and are beautifully integrated with a soft spicy mid-palate. There is stewed plum, chocolate, coffee and a touch of star anise. The air dried oak has added a subtle toasty creaminess to the palate and combines with velvety soft tannins to provide a magic carpet ride to a long lingering finish. Simply sensational. WOTN for me.

I would like to have seen a little more detail in the mid-palate, but that is really splitting hairs, and is probably just a function of the age.

October 8, 2016 - Pulled the cork and smelt of paint thinners and metho..!!!!! AMAZINGLY. ..it blew of in aproxamitly 1 hour to reveal a great wine of solid color and big black cherry. Sound wine with life in the tank..

August 27, 2010 - Deep ruby red with no deviation to the rim. Ripe and aromatic with tarry black fruits, and lovely old-leather notes. On the palate this is much more dense and youthful with good weight and spicy tannins. Good length with lingering full flavours of sweet blueberry, black coffee and liquorice. I think this still has plenty to go.
