November 27, 2020 - Meyer Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from a specific block within the Hestan Estate Vineyard. Crafted by Thomas Rivers Brown, the 2016 was aged for 20 months in French oak (60% new). Deep-to-opaque ruby/crimson, it is a full-bodied Cabernet that is loaded with cassis and black cherry fruit, augmented with bittersweet chocolate, baking spices, licorice and pipe tobacco. Low-to-medium in acidity and with well-integrated alcohol (listed as 14.8%), it wraps its flavors with plentiful sweet tannins and beautifully integrated oak. The mid-palate is dense and the finish is impressively long. This is a hedonistic red by virtue of its generous fruit and soft textures. Despite its current accessibility, it has the structure to age gracefully. Drink now-2036.

December 10, 2019 - Deep-to-opaque ruby/crimson and teeming with black fruit, this full-bodied Cabernet delivers a luscious payload of earthy dark cherries, cassis, bittersweet chocolate, baking spices and pipe tobacco. With low-to-medium acidity, well-integrated alcohol (listed as 14.8%), abundant sweet tannins and a judicious aliquot of oak, it is a delight to drink even at this early stage. Plump on the mid-palate and long on the back end, this is a sexy Napa Cab that has enough stuffing to easy reach its 20th birthday. Drink now-2036.

November 15, 2019 - This is a terrific enjoyable wine to drink. A great mix of simplicity and complexity. Medium Dark with bright young red/purple colors. Strong nose. Good fruits on the palate with not being overly fruity. Goes with most anything.
