December 25, 2023 - Last tasted this vintage 2 years ago. Those two years have been good to this wine. The wine was poured into a decanter through an aerator funnel. It did not sit in the decanter for very long before we started drinking it. It offered what I think to be typical Napa Valley nose, though significantly more refined than the mass market Napa Valley cabs. The nose invites you to linger a bit before taking your first sip. Once you taste it it you get leather, black cherries, red fruits, a whiff of green pepper and some cedar. Very nicely integrated flavors. Great finish to this wine.

@Angel Lupercio suggested in his TN from 4/1/20 that this wine is not suitable for further aging. I have tor respectfully disagree. This wine continues to improve. It is more balanced now than when I last tasted it in 2021 and the flavors have become richer, more nuanced.

I continue to find Mark Neal's wines to be excellent values! Very good wine at reasonable price points.

August 14, 2023 - Decanted 2 hours, returned to bottle and re-corked for dinner later. In an excellent place now. Fine nose of dark red fruit. Great flavor and balance with an edge of tannin remaining. In a good place to drink now or for some years to come.

September 2, 2022 - deep ruby, mild aromas of cassis, dark red berry flavors, mild acid, resolved tannins, medium finish, drink now or soon

August 14, 2022 - Did not decant, opened nicely over an hour or so, drank well. However, the last glass, about 2.5 hrs after opening, saw a noticeable dropoff of the fruit, and a more herbal and somewhat bitter finish. Basically the fruit seemed to die a bit. Might be a bit past its prime, or at least this bottle was.
