January 11, 2021 - PnP. Au nez, du cèdre. En bouche, de la réglisse noire et un peu de poussière. Acidité un peu élevée. C'est bien mais manque d'homogénéité (ou de temps) 89-90pts

September 16, 2018 - Champagne and Nebbiolo Afternoon (aka Drink Like You're in Piemonte) (Private residence, San Francisco): Palest of the 4 Mascarello wines. Perfumed nose with flowers, tobacco, and licorice. Light to medium weight but still quite powerful impact on the palate driven by soil and mint with some sweeter fruit underneath. Grainier, less seductive feel than the other wines, which seems just fine for such a young Barolo. This should be excellent with another decade of aging.
