May 4, 2019 - Decanted for 8 hours. Smokey, spicy, very savoury nose with a touch of pencil lead still.
Sweet fruited, blackberry and slightly floral. Surprisingly light in the mouth, around medium bodied, plenty of acid and tannin still, finish verging on tart and fresh but quite long. Not an elegant wine but very good.

August 13, 2018 - I tasted two bottles over two days. It loves the air... It needs some air to come up and it took a while to really show. It is a very pretty wine, not for everyone. I had to actually replace these two bottles with more generic wines as I knew the client would not get the barnyard effect. V barnyardy at the beginning, red fruit and dark fruit underneath with underbush, but a nice structure in the mouth. This wine eeds good food, such a veal medallion, in a nice delicate sauce. Could even be more like 92 but it needs babying in the way you serve it.

April 21, 2018 - Rich smell of pencil lead, spice, leather and blackberries. A very savoury nose with some floral smells. Full bodied, tannic, refreshing acid. Loosened up after a couple of hours to show more bramble fruit. Long finish with sweet fruit and menthol. Excellent.

August 26, 2017 - Surprisingly different from how I remember the last bottle.

Rich dark fruit and meat smell with some liqourice. Still quite tannic, smokey and spicy taste, with some sweet fruit. Refreshing floral finish, and less pencil lead than last time. Lovely.

July 7, 2017 - Soft around rim. Black fruit smell with menthol. Pencil lead taste. Tannins soft.
