August 21, 2023 - Intense and earthy showing blackberry, sweet cherry, leather, forest floor and plum. Full bodied and perfectly balanced with nice acidity and well integrated medium grained tannins. A gem from Yakima valley. NI:4, FI:22, FC:8, B:5, L:4

August 18, 2023 - Huge wine. Enormous Lots of cherry, cassis, graphite, chocolate, earthy notes. Long long finish. Needs a few more years imo but seems to be developing nicely. Come back in 3-5.

July 11, 2023 - Jeb Dunnuck’s rated this wine 99 points in 2017. While that may be generous, it is a wonderful, elegant wine. Drink now and enjoy this treasure from Sheridan.

February 12, 2023 - A monstrous wine. At first, the nose reveals subtle notes of black fruits, vanilla, coffee, and cedar. It clearly needed decanting, which proved necessary as it settled down and opened up with 4-5 hours of air. At this point, distinct notes of black cherry and blackberry emerged alongside earthy notes of graphite, cocoa, and spice. Absolutely huge in the mouth (of which the mouth can barely contain), with the extended aeration yielding suave layers of red and black fruit flavors melded with red licorice and spice. The finish is explosive and long. We regretted opening this up as this still needs more bottle age. Based on this bottle, we will hold at least 5 more years to open the next one. 95+

Full Pull Thread The Needle, 8/16/2017

(Sheridan Vineyard Block 1 Cabernet Sauvignon) Hello friends. We’re trying to thread the Sheridan Vineyard needle with today’s offer timing-wise. This one was originally scheduled for after Labor Day, but one of the wines on offer is depleting so rapidly in the market-at-large that it will be sold out by then (a 94pt Advocate review for a wine in the $20s will do that). The original reason for waiting until September was that we wanted to offer two of Sheridan’s crown jewels, and the release date for both is not until Sept 1. The way we decided to get around that issue is that we’re essentially offering those two (Singularity and Block 1) as a pre-sale: order today, and then the wine will be delivered in early September. Four wines total on offer today, really representing the breadth of Scott Greer’s vigneron excellence with Sheridan. From prices in the twenties to north of a hundy, these wines always represent fine value for the tag. Let’s dive in: Speaking of rare parcels, Block 1 just keeps getting more and more difficult to access at retail, and Jeb’s review (his strongest ever for any vintage of Block 1) isn’t going to help. Quick note to put this 99pt-review in context. We've offered exactly one 99pt Advocate wine in Full Pull's existence. The year was 2011, the wine was the 2008 K Vintners Royal City Syrah, and our allocation was a whopping 12 bottles. All that to say: this is the kind of opportunity that only happens once or twice per decade. Wine Advocate: Copyrighted material withheld.
