July 24, 2020 - Fine value but not much complexity for this usual stalwart...this bottle fell short of WS91 TN for some reason, a bit one dimensional with sweet dark fruit, smooth texture, slight bramble, and mild pepper notes. Didn't wow, but still solid despite missing stronger elements. Perhaps spoiled by bigger Zins?

July 3, 2019 - Popped and poured. Aromas of blackberry, black cherry, bramble and white pepper. Black and red fruit, bramble and spice flavors. Finishes with good persistence. Medium to full bodied. Very good QPR. Served with beef tostados.

March 12, 2019 - This is just now getting where it needs to be. The last two bottles were a little tight, even with a lot of air. Previous 2018 ratings were 88 and this was much more approachable and we bumped it up to 89, the top of "Very Good" on your rating scale. Should drink well into 2020, but give it some air.

December 17, 2018 - This Paso Robles Zin has aromas of black cherry, anise & cocoa. On the palate, there is a flavor bomb of ripe dark fruit & berries followed by a slap in the face of freshly cracked black pepper & baking spices. The fresh acidity and supple tannins lend structure to this delicious Zin.

November 13, 2018 - We swore we would wait and open until 2019, well you know how it is.
With some breathing, it opened up decently but still think it will be better well into 2019. Had some pretty good character and depth missing in lesser Zins and other reds. This is neither an alcohol nor a fruit bomb, which is highly refreshing.
Was not initially 100% varietally correct, but as it opened up, got the Zin spice, some cinnamon, touch of licorice, pretty good.
89 is the top end of the Very Good category for CellarTracker rating scale.
At $20 or less, good QPR, but as usual, this did not live up to the wine mag hype of 90+, but I am getting to where I expect that.
