January 8, 2020 - Popped and poured through an aerator. This was probably opened too soon, or should have been decanted for a number of hours. While the nose was very pretty, it was quite chunky and disjointed on the palate. Lots of oak and tannin coming through, becoming more pronounced as it got air. The plum and berry fruit started out quite forward but showed less and less as the wine sat open. I tried a sip on day 3 after letting it rest in a 375ml bottle, and it was all sharp edges, severely tannic, and not enjoyable. In my opinion, this has the stuffing to go for another decade easy. I'd hold another year or two, or else decant it for a minimum of 2 hours, probably longer. Drink 2022-2035
