September 3, 2023 - Rikipedia hit the description spot on. It needed the bottle time to be integrated, but proved to be a perfect wine for the strong flavors of smoked and grilled Tri tip.

June 29, 2023 - Still dark and brooding. Another two years?

June 11, 2022 - Deep purple to violet rim, the perfumed nose reveals pressed blue flowers, violets and intense black cherry (almost cherryade) with damson, loganberry, tar and liquorice. Elements of chokeberry, barrique, fennel frond and dried mint gently make their way forward, giving a cooling sensation.
Full-bodied, the entry is intense with sweet yet compact to sticky tannins. A 15% alcohol is well integrated and coated with fruit flesh of stewed plums, vanilla, woodsmoke and a fleshy cherry skin texture. Certainly a powerful wine it benefits from this cooling mint in the mid-palate. Not that complex this is a wine with power rather than finesse.

February 9, 2022 - Definitely coming along, although better with food. Still a brooding, dark bottom that didn't evolve during the course of the dinner. Still needs another year... or more. Over the dark flavors there is a lively streak of lush fruit with ample tannin and balanced acid. I think it will still develop over the next years.
