June 1, 2023 - Still has plenty of brutish presence, but approaching tail end of brightness. Fully tannic, characteristic fruit is resolved and present but certainly fading in light of tannins, just right leather and raisins. Lots and lots of sediments, something we don't see in Napa anymore. Opened summer 2023, enjoy within the next year or two.

April 24, 2021 - This is still holding on after all this time. I gave it a 2 hour decant. Some cedar, cassis, it really softened up as the night went on. Obviously mature. Refined. Decent amount of sediment in the bottle. Perhaps too soft to have with food at this age, anything too spicy or rich would overwhelm this. Drinking window still open but why hold longer?

November 22, 2018 - The cork was saturated but not leaking; had a subtle hint of corking or brett, but the fruit was abundant and stood strong above. This wine has remained richly fruity and structured with the tannins now only detectable in the finish. Not much complexity remains, mostly the juicy and acidic fruits. The medium finish is rewarding, with the fruit giving way to some subtle spices (vanilla, cinnamon, clove) and the remaining tannins to dry the cheeks! Most definitely past its prime, but was fun at Thanksgiving dinner as a style contrast next to a 1995 Chateau Prieure-Lichine (Margaux)!

April 19, 2009 - What a treat. Decanted for about one hour. This was great, plenty of fruit, some mint on the nose with a very well-balanced mouth. The finish was good, albeit a little short. Excellent bottle, glad I have 2 more to see where they go with time. They should easily drink well for a few years.
