September 3, 2023 - A simple wine from Piemont, overrated in my view. Grape variety of Barbera is not "my cup of tea", missing the complexity, tannins, volume and length of finish with this wine.
2015 is beyond its peak (also if you look at the appearance). Tertiary notes and very noticable acidity are making this wine an okayish companian to hamburgers, steaks, but that's it.
As a Bordeaux lover, this wine is solid - but that's it.
Drink up your holdings - I will do so.

May 4, 2023 - opens with time...faded cherry, blueberry...spice...integrated and nice. tannins in check.

September 25, 2022 - I don't have much experience with Barberas and this one reminded me of an Amarone. Very rich and satisfying, a good companion for a hearty meal.

May 26, 2019 - Pitch black to the edge. Very impressive wine from Barbera d'Asti. Delicious and highly enjoyable from sniff to swallow. Got better every day opened for a week. A striking example of the differences between the red wines from Barbera and Nebbiolo grapes in Piedmont. Superb Nebbiolos usually take decades to reach a peak, primarily from overpoweringly structured tannin and acidity, eventually achieving great concentration and complexity. But this youthful 4 year Barbera is astonishingly dark, fruit forward, rich, integrated, and rounded, partially due to being aged in small French oak barrels. Overall, rightly famous as one of the best Barberas made.
