February 6, 2022 - Syrah plus Marsanne and Rousanne in Hermitage but this is 100% Syrah and some new oak.
Blood, blackberry, powerful, restrained, firm structure. Very classic Northern Rhone. Medium finish, very young, will be better in 5 years, will last for many years.

December 31, 2019 - Decanted for around three hours, and certainly felt ready to go by the time we started drinking it, with remarkably (almost worryingly) smooth tannins and lots of dark fruit and black coffee notes. Good but, as a previous reviewer has noted, very modern.

  • aero Does not like this wine: 90 points

October 25, 2019 - Modern styling, though not so fruit forward. Drank over a few days. Strong oaking, monolithic purple fruit. It will integrate and unfurl with years, but not yet with air.

I put in effort to not purchase wines like this where any semblance of terroir has been removed by the winemaker. Not poorly made — just generic, boring, unplaceable. Blind I’d guess 2015/16 $30 Bordeaux.

July 19, 2019 - dark inky blackish red, little clarity, ruby hue
Nose: plum, cassis, barnyard, swine, olives, wet earth, iron, dark chocolate, dust, silver, thyme, oak
Pal: plum, cassis, cigar, tobacco, barnyard, swine, olives, wet earth, iron, dark chocolate, dust, scrub, silver, thyme, green herbs, oak, tannins, touch complexity
    Feel: medium, full, savory, acidic
    Finish: medium long
    T9 (could be an 8)
