Community Tasting Notes 5

April 23, 2022 - Salty mineral notes, stone fruit, white peach, fresh grassy notes, a marginally peppery layer and more mineral flavors of cold rock and smoke. Convincing palate with citrus and lime providing for lively freshness. Nice length finish and good tension.

November 26, 2020 - Tasted double blind. The freshness, elegance, complexity and superb definition made me believe to have a Burgundy Chardonnay, maybe a rather solar year, maybe a Batard in the glass. My notes say, never had so much superb floral notes in a Chardonnay.... that would have been the hint. Compared to basically all other Rhone whites, this truly is closest to a superb Burgundy with a lot of cut and weightlessness hardly any Hermitage can ever have (not to mention a Viognier). Although not cheap, this it is better than anything at this price point in Burgundy. Stunning.

TN: Fresh stone fruit, lots of minerality, hints of toast on the medium+ expressive nose. Very harmonious. On the palate this is very intense yet weightless, very fresh, sharp, pure, clean and very complex with aromas of citrus fruit, pineapple, stone fruit, quince, toast, lots of crushed rocks. At first the finish was a bit muted but gained the longer the wine was in the glass.

Decanting: Not decanted, no decant needed.

November 14, 2020 - An epiphany of what an opulent white wine should be like. Having had hardly any experience with CDP whites I wasn't sure what to expect, but I can safely say this is a total stunner. The rest of the party tasted this blind and unanimously guessed Burgundy Grand Cru! The fruit profile is dominated by stone fruit such as ripe nectarine, but there are also traces of more tropical flavours like pineapple and a splash of lime. There is both mineral and floral complexity (thinking sun flowers) but also hints of herbal, almost chemical or medicinal notes. Fantastically complex palate with lots of breath. Round and finely textured, but also dense and structured to an extent that I almost lost sight of all the fresh acidity that builds up into vibrant and electrifying finish. This was one of the most complete and layered palate sensations I've ever had – not only among whites but in wine in general. The only negative point: The QR-code on the back that should have played the A Tempo tune when scanned didn't work.

July 29, 2020 - Amazingly well-balanced white wine, beautiful perfumed nose perfect entry, sweet but perfect soft acidity and balance, and fruit lasting a minute
