December 28, 2021 - 2019 Visit to North Canterbury, NZ: Bottle tasting, small pour. Merlot 60%, Cabernet Sauvignon 30%, Malbec 10%. New oak 40%. A bouquet of milk chocolate, black plums and other mainly dark fruit and beef stew. More depth, concentration and power here than on the 2016 Estate. The oak is present but well integrated. Dark fruit, liquorice and dark chocolate. Also quite New World in style but silkier and more serious in its aspiration.
