June 29, 2023 - Decanted 30-min ahead of a seared ribeye, potato salad, and spinach salad. Faded crimson color with a purple hue. Floral nose brings intense cherry blossoms, eucalyptus, mint, and grape hard candy. The palate is medium, round, compact, and textured, bringing a top-line ridge of red fruit (cherries, raspberries) followed by a bottom-line core (blueberries, blackberries, and plums) mixed with chocolate espresso beans, pipe tobacco, and dried leather. The finish is still tannic but refined and silky. Elegant and graceful over opulent and extractive, this is a special 'old-school' Napa wine right out of the 1960s (Bordeaux style, but Napa terroir) and will only get better, so drink 2025-2035. Technical score: 93. Enjoyment score: 93.

February 4, 2023 - See Todd French note. He nails it for tasting notes and the nose.
Full 2 hour, almost 3 hour decant. It was incredibly tasty. Was a hit with everyone while we had friends over for wine and snacks. Based on the structure and elegance of the wine, I think my last 2 bottles should progress nicely over several (at least 10) years. -

January 12, 2023 - Hello, old school! Nose is classic Bordeaux - sharp pencil graphite, blue fruits, leather on the nose, black cherry, tea leaves, white pepper on the palate, sweet red fruit lingers to the finish. Stylistically this wine is more acid-driven, medium body, not rich or unctuous, and I believe by design - tannins are sharp, but not harsh, and seem ready for the long haul. Fruit is darker profile but very much not an overly ripe delivery - well balanced and fully old world style. After extensive air, some baking spice started to emerge as well.

April 21, 2019 - Wasn't overly impressed with the wine. Find wine and had some uniqueness to it but for price point, much better wines to be had.
