Community Tasting Notes 11

May 26, 2022 - Opened not decanted and served chilled. First off, kudos to Kermit Lynch for giving me credit on the corked bottle. When I brought in the off bottle, he saw the vintage and gave me the "you're still drinking this vintage?" question. What can I say? I'm use to drinking reds that last longer than 6 years. If I should drink it younger, you should say so on the bottle. Unfortunately, this bottle (my last) is right on the edge of oxidation. The first tell tale sign is that dark yellow urine color that you see before you even taste it. As it's on the edge of being off I'm trying to drink this as fast as I can before air makes it worse (I really don't want to go back to the shop with another bad bottle for credit). Lemon lime notes on the entry; light to medium weight in body; dark lemon notes with a tangy and sharp double helix twist that's flutters between enjoyable and unenjoyable; ends with a sour lemon finish. So now I know: drink these early and often.

May 22, 2022 - First bottle was flawed so I popped another. Unfortunately it wasn’t chilled but at least it’s not off. Tasted at room temperature. Lemon citrus attack; medium weight in body; nice acidity; there is also a mellowness that comes from age; ends with a pleasant lemon finish. Good +. Should be better with some chill on it.

February 25, 2022 - Same note as before but after pulling it from the refrigerator to open it was left out on the counter to warm up. As a result it becomes richer and more opulent. Good to Very Good.

March 12, 2021 - Pretty much the same note as before:

Opened not decanted and served chilled. Pretty lemon and floral notes on the nose. Strong lemon notes with high acidity on the palate; light to medium weight in body. Ends with a crisp, tangy, lemon and lime finish. I will also add that the fruit seems to be operating in a very narrow bandwidth. Next bottle I will decant or allow to get warmer to see if it's possible to expand the breadth. Good.
