  June 15, 2023 - Burgundy trip 2023; 6/14/2023-6/18/2023: 60% new oak; fully destemmed
  Grand Cru from the 50 hectares large Clos de Vougeot. Faiveley is one of the 85 odd owners, owning three parcels. Two of those plots are situated in the lower grounds, with the other one more central, near the castle.
  
  Intensity medium. Floral, strawberry, red currant, green leaf, green bell pepper, Acidity medium(+). Tannins medium(+). Finish long. Will improve in the coming years.

  June 15, 2023 - Annual wine trip; Bourgogne & Champage with Bas; 6/14/2023-6/18/2023 (France): [Tasting at Domaine Faiveley] Pale ruby, medium intensity with aroma’s of red & black fruit, violets, leather, some development with forest floor and mushroom. Powerful. 92-93
  
  Bottle 4063. From two lower plots near the provincial road and one plot higher up in Clos Vougeot. 60% new oak, 40% 1-year old oak
  
  They have an amazing fermentation room (rebuild in 2018) and marvelous cellars. Before the visit I had the idea that they are mainly negociant, but they have 120 ha own vineyards and nowadays only 10% is negociant business, mainly with their whites

  January 25, 2019 - During a Paulee tasting and dinner so only brief impressions. Good, but tight and closed, lots of dark fruit, dense. This will need a lot of time like most 2016.
