August 1, 2015 - First off the bottle is absolutely gorgeous, usually a label like this would be for $100+ wines not the $20 that I paid for it. Second 90% Syrah and 10% Pinot Noir is highly usual, I can't recall ever having something like this. But all that's it's worth the wine simply isn't very good in the mouth. The nose is dense and funky full of mushroom and wet earth plus lots of smoke. I would have thought it was a cab blend. In the mouth is where this wine falls apart, mostly hot with alcohol and artificial fruit flavor profile, it was a truffle like note towards the end but isn't enough to hold it together.

July 23, 2010 - I have noticed with young Artiste wines, they’re tightly wound. Giving each time to rest in the cellar is key. As Bion mentions in his latest "Optimum Cellaring Chart", now is the time to have this edition. No need for long decanting. Wonderful juice out of the gate. The Syrah creates a nice balance of fruit but even with such small percentage of Pinot in this table red, it's still discernable. Wonderful combo. We’re disappointed we only had one bottle.
