Community Tasting Notes 6

January 21, 2009 - Consistant with notes on 11/2/2008. Went great with NY Strip steaks on the charcoal grill.

November 28, 2008 - We liked it but did not love it. It had a little earthiness on the nose. The front palate was cherry grape and tasted a bit like kool-aid, but deepened for a bit on the mid-palate, and faded at the end. I would drink it again with a rotisserie chicken on a Thursday, but it would not be something that I would save for company.

November 2, 2008 - Better than the last bottle.

October 7, 2008 - Nose: Grapey and yeasty nose with some oak undertones. Palate: Bright acid entry and soft tannins. Blackberry undertones and a quick finish. Not a great cab but for the $13 sale price tag (normally $20 full retail) it is quite good. Would not pay full retail for it. Good QPR in this instance (and worthy of 2 extra points).

August 27, 2008 - Bouquet is fairly light and grapey, the most distinct characteristic being alcohol. Texture is pretty smooth and the bite from tannins don't kick in until the end - a nice quality. Taste of red grape skins, wood reminding me of bark, and a sensation of being around a fireplace. Not very complex. Decent but nothing to write home about.
