March 29, 2022 - PnP. ABV 12%. Interestingly already showing some dark soils on the nose which intermixed with flowers and old barrels. Fairly expressive and seems ready. Mouth-watering acidity almost borderline excessive in the first day, fine tannins, and decent length. Finished with dark soils and oaks lingering. Very Gevrey Chambertin and quite nice. Ready for consumption now, a decent village.

October 2, 2021 - Lovely barnyard on the nose-just like a chicken coop, black cherry, saddle leather, hints of mushroom and earth, same on the palate, big body, rich, very tasty, even better tasting the second night, elegant, long, long, long finish and flavorful aftertaste, label/cork photo uploaded.

January 2, 2021 - Dugat and Dugat-Py wines are not really on my radar screen. I associate the name Dugat with huge prices, huge power and extraction, gobs of fruit and lavish new oak, "Bourgogne a la facon Parker"- the opposite of the freshness, precision and finesse which I look for in Burgundy. If this 2016 is anything to go by, my perception may be outdated. Yes, the red and blue fruit is ripe and there is a certain sweetness to it, but the oak is certainly not overdone, the elegance and harmony are exemplary and the modest 12% ABV are clearly the result of an early harvest. The tannins are polished, and I like the freshness, transparency and minerally expression. The finish is tight with some smoke from the stalks and excellent persistence. A very nice surprise. Drink now - 2026+.
