February 25, 2024 - Fabulous. So young but so drinkable. Incredibly fine tannins - dont even get that silky element they are so fine. Structure and acidity is great. This is going to be something special, bt I think it will take quite a while fully show itself

February 18, 2024 - One last round at Jade Court (Chicago, IL): From magnum. Great showing of a wine that I've loved for quite a while. It's a lot more approachable right now than the dark and intense 2015, with an effusive nose of smoke, slight saline olive notes, and plenty of black fruit. The palate isn't overbearingly tannic, and there's more of a lightness thanks to the acidity here. The fruit is mostly black with a hint of red, but this is surprisingly drinkable (even out of large-format) right now, though there is of course still plenty of potential.

November 20, 2023 - From 375ml. Beautiful crimson in the glass. Expressive, layered nose. Core of red and black cherry together with blackberry. Peppered meat, bacon fat and leather. A note of hot, wet stone. Medium to full bodied with lovely freshness and high but fine tannins. Long, bright, peppered fruit finish. Delicious now but the best is yet to come.

    WSET notes:

    Deep garnet.

Pronounced on the nose with violet, blackberry, black cherry, red cherry, wet stone, black pepper, meat, bacon fat, leather. Developing.

Pronounced and dry on the palate. Medium plus body, medium alcohol, high acidity, high tannins, long finish.

Can drink now but has potential for aging.

October 30, 2023 - Drinking beautifully today despite being youthful, the 2016 Côte Rôtie from Jamet reveals a deep, smoky bouquet with aromas of violets, blackberries, licorice, thyme, and sage, followed by a full-bodied, seamless and concentrated with bright acids and a long, penetrating finish.

August 24, 2023 - At Conrad, Tokyo. Very early in the life of this wine clearly and picked off the list in the name of science as I have several laying for long-term aging. Assessed against memories of the 2010 which is a benchmark for this Cuvee. Marginally leaner and more red fruited. The nose is already quite expressive but the palate is comparatively more muted. This can and will probably find a smidgen of additional midpalate depth to be truly great
