January 31, 2023 - Special bottling of the 2012 Beguines from a single demi-muid that went through extended elevage. On pop this was closed up, and in comparison the GC was firing. 2 hours later, and woooo this got incredibly tasty as well. Purity of citrus and orchard fruit, with mineral backbone, and focused acidity. Yum.

October 1, 2021 - Normally only post wines on here from my cellar or BYO but man oh man. 1 and done bottle “off” the list at The Modern. This is a whole other level of Champagne. It is of outrageous intensity and expression. There is incredible power, vigor and drive in this wine, showing such depth in its material, clearly built to age. A gentle decant unleashes its complex and layered core of caramelized orchard fruit, gingerbread and smokey minerals. As the bubbles reduce with extended aeration, it takes on a whole other face, performing like a Montrachet with age. An exceptional and singular Champagne that we should all be so lucky to try.

May 2, 2018 - (LC15) very chalky, yeasty sourdough, high pitched, loads of green apple skin, nearly giving the nose a sense of tannin. Not fully sure what it means but there’s a blue raspberry quality here. Tons of flinstones vitamins speaking to the wine’s intense minerality. The palate is very precise, chalky and textural. The power is front-loaded and very impressive upfront, but seems to miss a bit of back end. Absolute laser intensity. Interesting to try, but this is missing the weight of any Selosse iteration. A very fine and lively mousse.

April 11, 2018 - SLDS April 2018: Labelled LC15 but it is actually 2012 as the base. Lemon and herb, earth and some smokey elements. Super fresh and clean on the palate with a rush of acidity and light but pure mineral based fruit. Would be interesting to see it in 4-5 years I think.
