Community Tasting Notes 5

  • teganblue Does not like this wine:

June 24, 2023 - Lacks fruit flavour and short finish - past its window

December 28, 2021 - Still has hints of purple. Mostly primary nose of blackcurrant blackberry blueberries cherries dark olives with charcoal minerals earth wood mint lemon grass. Some minimal early aged mushroom. Firm structure with firm mouth coating tannins. It is full bodied has a soft mouthfeel with intense fruit flavours and good length. Extroverted and feminine. Riedel Bordeaux glasses 16 deg C. Best after 15 minutes post opening. Estimated drinking window 2025 to 2035

June 7, 2019 - A lively dry type of Cabernet Sauvignon

An almost spicy nose, distinct oak present.

Plenty of grip on the tongue , tight, oaky, medium bodied and dry.
    Slightly acidic
A different taste than I was expecting but it may not appeal to some
The wine is sound and well made and will live on for at least 5 years.

February 16, 2019 - From the red soils of Coonawarra, this Cabernet is full of plush black fruits, cacao, mint, eucalyptus, green pepper, cedar and black pepper, tannins are very present at this stage, heavy on the oak shows this needs time in the cellar for the oak to properly integrate into the wine. Leave for another 5-10 years
