La robe est rouge intense, assez légère, sans signes d’oxydation. Au nez, une douceur lactique, du fruit (mûre) et une pincée d’étable. La bouche est marquée par une sensation soyeuse et du fruit, accompagné d’une acidité bienvenue mais parfois un peu brute, verte si on ne l’accompagne pas d’un repas.
Avis un peu mitigé. Une belle finesse, fraîcheur et un toucher de bouche particulier, mais reste assez simple et paraît parfois un peu dilué. Selon les gorgées, de grandes variations. -

May 12, 2021 - Rather nice. Slight, supple, rather pure raspberry fruit. Little bit of iron. Decent focus. Lithe. 13%. Fascinating interpretation of mencia, a variety of which I have only a certain amount of familiarity - but all others I have had have been weightier.

Much more cohesive on day two with raspberry, liquorice and nuts aswell as a rough hint of compost perhaps from stems. Tasted this next to a Trousseau which revealed this wines slightly lower acidity and less minerality. Drunk by itself it was perfectly balanced though.

March 15, 2018 - High acidity but well carried by the cherry and dark raspberry fruit, pepper, licorce, iron and a herbal ending. Loving it and the QPR is of course excellent at about 15 EUR.
