Community Tasting Notes 9

August 23, 2022 - The spiciness on the nose and palate is outstanding. The dark fruit is nice and there is plenty of stuffing for this to age. The acidity is good and there are fine, elegant tannins. The wine has a sneaky moderate+ finish. It just seems too sweet for my taste at this point (and there is a little char from the oak giving bitterness to the finish). I think it is not ready for prime time. Drink starting in 2026, but I think it will be even better closer to 2030. 91+

July 30, 2022 - Tasted after 90 minutes of air. Spicy red berry fruit on the nose. Sweet red berry fruit. High toned tea. Cola. Very smooth. Great balance.

June 26, 2022 - Decant 20-30 mins. Nose starts closed, then a bit of must followed by distinct mint then tea at the 20 min mark. More typical cherry and strawberry come in at the 30 min mark. Palate opens at 30 min - dark fruit and cherry, with gentle tannins on the back as banana leaf, lavender and some graphite.

June 4, 2022 - Dark red though not super clear, lots of berry fruit, medium-bodied, hints of earthiness, not as precise or structured as I remembered,

May 18, 2022 - 2016 Vintage. Purchased from Total Wines and More. Scrumptiously smooth! Typical OR earthy pinot noir. Shea Vineyard produces consistently good grapes.
