January 14, 2023 - Nose of cherry and plum. Throughout the tasting, the candied fruit will stand out.

The palate is much more supple than my previous Valentini. Salty aromas, salted butter caramels, a wide range of spices and a still bright fruit, all coated in a fluid juice that stretches well thanks to a nice acidity. I must admit to being a little surprised by the profile of the wine, which is more Burgundian than Abruzzo. Very spicy and saline finish that lacks a little intensity compared to my reference on this wine.

Excellent, but I expected more from this mature Valentini.

April 30, 2021 - Not particularly interesting, feels quite young but not as complex as i would expect

December 6, 2020 - Sour cherry, tar, roasted meat, balsamic. Good but not a perfect btl...slight sign of seepage.

October 5, 2018 - 2001 - slowed for 3-4 hours. Wow!!! What a wine! My WOTN! On the nose, it was incredibly fragrant, lots of red cherries, purple plums, modest sensation of candied red fruits, salted caramel, and spices, on the palate, the red fruits are generous and nicely balanced with focused mid to back palate acidity, it also presented multiple types of spices (which is supposedly quite classic for Valentini red), tannin was very chewy, along with the balance of fruits, spices, acidity, the wine was so compact and lingering.
