Community Tasting Notes 4

August 29, 2020 - Mature Volnay, some bricking at the rim, strong fine legs, still fresh and vibrant, freshly turned earth and forest floor mix with the cherry and red berry fruit. Good depth of flavour, medium to medium plus acid, some medium grained tannins make the finish a touch dry. Drinking perfectly now but while I wouldn’t rush to drink it if I had another bottle, I’m unsure it will improve further

February 17, 2015 - Quite rich and deep in colour for a volnay, this is in that good place where fruit and secondary aromas meet, there's enough fruit to balance the development for a while yet, it benefitted from a bit of aeration, quite elegant, very enjoyable.

February 14, 2015 - Very delicate and light nose of strawberry and earth, forest floor.
Palate, good structure for a wine of this age, red fruit, earth, forest.

June 10, 2012 - Showing well. Color still youthful with no signs of aging. Beautiful, lifted nose - floral, dusty, bing cherry, soy, asian spices. opens up nicely on the palate after 30 mins in decanter - ripe cherries, soy, dusty tannins with fresh acidity. quite sturdy for a Volnay but still maintains elegance. medium plus finish.
