March 22, 2024 - Light as a feather, perfumed, gorgeous light red fruit. Juicy and airy, easy - too easy - to drink. Soft and silky tannins, seem fully integrated. Good depth and length. Balance, harmony. No harm done drinking this now. With Johnny and Dorthe in Chablis.

March 12, 2021 - Poured deeper than expected for a Chambolle. The aromatic and flavor profiles kind of follow the color. Really rich dark berry fruit on all fronts, some strong spice accompanied by hints of twigs and dried shiitake mushrooms. Quite dense on the palate, but also very young & subtle at this stage, hard to enjoy. Tannins are dusty and green with a piercingly high acid and moderate alcohol. The fruit concentration slaps you full on, but needs more years to integrate with the rest of the structure. Good potential, would drink again.

September 6, 2020 - At Wimborne. From bottle after significant hours of air already. Drank in Gabriel Standart.
Appearance is clear, medium intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of reductive elements, rubber and earth, dense ripe red cherry fruits, red plum, liht wood spice, rose petals. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of dense red cherries, red plums, sweet rose petals and bit of floral rosewater, sweet cinnamon spices. Bitter-sweet but ultimately sweet long finish.
Very good quality. Not as dark as other Amiot-Servelle Chambolles I remember to be. But dense nonetheless. Chambolle elegance is struggling against the density of fruit and strong spice ?wood.
Ambitious wine, and I score accordingly. Though preference wise I definitely prize elegance > density, and would rather sacrifice some concentration. Ageing needed here.

February 13, 2020 - Tasting at Amiot-Servelle (Chambolle Musigny): Slightly darker black cherry and blackberry fruit. More substantial on the palate and while elegant this has a darker fruit profile and more firmness. Long finish. Will require 5-10 years. 92+

February 13, 2020 - Burgundy, Day 3 (Beaune, France): Served right next to Les Plantes, whose vines are right next to these. There's definitely more of an intensity and power in this wine. It's a little more mineral and stern, but the fruit is more generous and ripe with a voluptuousness that I didn't expect. More expressive with better breadth, I preferred this to the slightly less famous neighbour.
