April 28, 2024 - Better than my last bottle, but not as good as the bottle noted previous to that bottle. This time, there is a bit of bell pepper and less pure Merlot. Pretty nice for a $20 twenty-six year-old wine. 5-12-15-8: 90/100.

March 7, 2024 - Popped and poured. Developed rusty red color. Red fruit and mineral nose. Tannins fully resolved, fruit beginning to fade but still fairly attractive, just a little hard on the finish. Tastes a bit better than a bottle I shared with my friend Bruce down in Tucson, but not close to the "pure essence of Merlot" I enjoyed just a while ago. 5-12-13-7: 87/100.

February 16, 2024 - My first bottle of this wine, opened a week ago, was corked. This bottle is more what I was hoping for: a red fruit infused wine on the simple but tasty side. Showing some age, a tad less than opaque, but more red than rust at the rim; impressive! Bright cherry bouquet on PnP. Still lively in the mouth, lacking more in body than fruit. Decent length. A very creditable effort from an estate not previously on my radar. 5-12-15-8: 90/100. Later, some iodine/mineral asserting itself on the nose.

Next day: This is really hanging in there, not tired or faded in the least. If anything, gaining flavor and heft. Plump, perfect Merlot shines though. I adored the 1980 Mill Creek Merlot decades ago, and this brings that wine to mind. Just lovely. Worth another couple points: 5-13-16-8: 92/100.

September 22, 2023 - Slow ox 45 minutes in glass. Slightly brown rim. Elegant, complex aromas of dark cherries. Soft on the palate with light black cherries and perhap a touch of cocoa. Perhaps a tiny bit of oxidation but that added to the complexity.
This got rave reviews from some blind tasters for the complex, elegant bouquet. Drink up soon!
