Community Tasting Notes 3

September 28, 2016 - Dark purple with only slight clear rim; very autumnal nose of fallen leaves, funk and the usual "forest floor" qualities of great red burg; more guts and complexity than the '64 Ponnelle CDR tasted alongside. But they were two great wines! This one had plenty of juice still in the tank and an easy 10 years potential still.

August 4, 2015 - An unfortunate slightest hint of TCA; beautiful substance beneath it though. Classic old burg with brown sugar and slight smokiness and mint. Incredible length. Having drunk hundreds of bottles of this negociants wines, almost never a corked bottle. Still the group fave as barely detectable to all but one in the group who couldn't get past it. Still have one more of these so can get a better read on the wine.

March 23, 2008 - Excellent condition. Lots of life. Three hours after opening, still really solid. Large scaled. dark red fruits, earthy, dense.
Very, very long. A bit coarse perhaps, but a wonderful bottle of old burgundy.
