Community Tasting Notes 5

December 25, 2022 - Notes similar to before. The colour is light mahogany with a slightly pink tinge. The nose is slightly reticent, but it explodes into life on the palate: strongly rancio and with a marvellous balance of sweetness and tang. A very long finish. A great experience. 14.5%, cork.

July 12, 2021 - Mahogny colour, medium intensity. Mature, pronounced nose with dried fruit, raisins, spices and some oxidative notes. Medium sweet, fresh medium(+) acidity, medium(+) body, moderate feeling of alcohol (14,5%). Dried fruit, raisins, walnuts, christmas spices and muscovado sugar. Very good length.

December 14, 2020 - Deep and slightly dull gold - almost mahogany. Yet quite translucent. On the nose a very strong rancio aroma - not all that attractive, was my first impression. On the palate though - wow! - what an amazing array of flavours. The expected oxidative elements are only top notes; a remarkable lemony, citrus-peel, fruit cake freshness takes up most of the foreground. It's very sweet, but that tang keeps it balanced. I've been wanting to try a vin de paille from this area for years, and am delighted to finally have got the opportunity. It's like nothing I've ever had in a glass before - quiet distinct, even, from a memorable vin jaune I had earlier his year. Quite an adventure! 14.5%, cork, half bottle.

June 9, 2020 - Fantastic and rich experience with a perfect balance between the sweet part and the acidity. Lovely notes from the oxidation, candied fruits and nuts.
